Nepal Culture and Trekking (19-days)

Autumn and winter (from November to March)

 

This trip highlights the culture and scenic mountains views of Nepal. The trip include from Kathmandu valley, Nagarkot hill station to view the Himalayas, Chitwan National Park, one of the finest safari parks, Bandipur village, Pokhara valley and a popular trekking of “Poon Hill – Ghorepani – Dhampus Circuit” in the Annapurna Himalayas.  On the trek you will be crossing through the fascinating landscapes, villages, Jungles of Rhododendron flowers (the national flower of Nepal), hot spring, water-falls and be continually surrounded with panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges. Poon Hill (3200m) is one of the best points in this region for scenery. The panoramic Annapurna range, Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South, Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Dhampus peak, Nilgiri and many other Himalayas can be seen during the trek. At the end, you will have some free time in Kathmandu for rest, relax and shopping before leaving Nepal.


Itinerary

DAY 01 – ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU

Upon arrival at the airport, met and greet transfer to hotel.

 

DAY 02 – KATHMANDU

Guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu; old palaces, Swoyambhunath stupa (the Monkey Temple) and Patan Durbar Squares.

 

DAY 03 – KATHMANDU – BHAKTAPUR – NAGARKOT

After breakfast, we proceed the trip to Bhaktapur, one of the World Heritage sites of Kathmandu valley and well preserved ancient Kingdom. Afternoon drive from Bhaktapur to Changu Narayan Temple, one of the oldest temples in the valley. After visiting the temple, we will do easy hiking about one and half hour to Telkot, one the way to Nagarkot.

 

DAY 04 – NAGARKOT – DAMAN

After breakfast and morning view from Nagarkot, 3-4 hours scenic drive to Daman hill (one of the famous view points outside Kathmandu for panoramic Himalayan ranges on clear weather day).

 

DAY 05 – DAMAN – CHITWAN NP

After breakfast and morning view from Daman, drive to Chitwan National Park (3 hrs) and start the safari trips…

 

Day 06 – CHITWAN NP

All day guided safari activities; Elephant ride, canoeing, jungle walks, animal and bird watching etc.

A local cultural show and all meals include in Chitwan NP trip.

 

DAY 07 – CHITWAN NP – BANDIPUR

After morning program in Chitwan NP, scenic drive to Bandipur to explore a typical cultural village, local life and activities with another panoramic mountain view on clear weather day. Overnight at a medium village hotel or resort.

 

DAY 08 – BANDIPUR – POKHARA

After breakfast and view from Bandipur, we will continue drive to Pokhara (2-3 hrs), the famous lake city on the lap of Annapurna Himalayas.

 

DAY 09 – TREKKING- POKHARA-ULLERI

Today early morning breakfast and one and half hour drive to Nayapol-Birethanti, and trek from Birethanti to Ulleri (2070m, about 5-6 hrs mostly uphill. Overnight at a mountain lodge or teahouse.

 

DAY 10 – TREKKING- ULLERI – GHOREPANI

After usual breakfast and morning vie … continue trekking to Ghorepani (2855m), approximately 4 hours walking. Overnight at a mountain lodge or teahouse.

 

DAY 11 – TREKKING GHOREPANI – POON HILL (3200m) – TADAPANI

Early morning one hour hike to Poon Hill for sunrise, which offers magnificent views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, The Nilgiris and Annapurna-1 and south. Upon returning from Poon Hill, take breakfast and trek to Tadapani crossing over Deurali Hill and descending through a scenic subtropical forest to Tadapani, a scenic Gurung village. Total walking 6-7 hrs, overnight at a mountain lodge or teahouse.

 

DAY 12 – TREKKING - TADAPANI – CHOMRONG

After breakfast and morning view from Tadapani, the trails proceed to Chomrong village (1950m), a scenic Gurung village. Chomrong is one of the most important markets towns in the area. Chomrong offers very clear view of Mt. Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhare (Mt. Fishtail). Overnight at a mountain lodge or teahouse.

 

DAY 13 – TREKKING - CHOMRONG – LANDRUNG

The trails descent towards to Jhinu Danda from where a side trip through forest path to some hot Springs on the banks of Modi Khola. There are two small ponds (two by two meters) and supplied with hot water from the springs. It is very pleasant to relax here or simply for a wash. After here trip proceeds to Landrung village, another Gurung village. Most of the Gurung people from this area have served as Gurkha Solders - called “Gurkhas” in the British Army and their families were simple farmers and now they are also engaging in tourism as side income due to the tourism developed in recent years to this region.

 

DAY 14 – TREKKING - LANDRUNG –DHAMPUS

Today the trails gently goes up-hills and down hills with scenic terraced farm lands and en route small villages; Tolka, Bheri Kharka, Bhichok Deurali (a hilly pass 2149-m), Pothana and a short forest walks to the large village of DHAMPUS. You will have a magnificent view of Annapurna ranges from west to east: Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhere or Mt. Fishtail (6993m) etc. Total trekking about 5-6 hrs, overnight at a mountain lodge or teahouse.

 

DAY 15 – TREKKING DHAMPUS – PHEDI – POKHARA

A shorttreks descending down to Phedi, on the road from Pokhara to Baglung. Drive about 30-40 minutes to Pokhara. Overnight at a medium hotel.

 

DAY 16 – POKHARA

Free day in Pokhara for self-activities on leisure and explore around the lake city…

 

DAY 17 – FLY POKHARA – KATHMANDU

Take a panoramic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Pick up at Kathmandu airport and on the way transfer to visit Bouddhanath stupa, the largest Buddhist shrine in Nepal that was built in 5th century and later check in to the hotel.

 

DAY 18 – KATHMANDU

Free day on leisure; free for your self-activities and shopping.

Evening a traditional cultural show with Nepali dinner.

 

DAY 19 – DEPARTURE FROM KATHMANDU

After breakfast at the hotel, free time and as per your flight time, we will transfer you to airport for your flight home or next destination. Namaste! End of the trip.
